He has been Assistant Musical Director of the Morriston Orpheus Male Voice Choir in Swansea, Conductor of the Southsea Symphony Orchestra in Portsmouth, Director of the Choir of St Mary's Parish Church in Portsea, one of the largest parish churches in the country, and Director of the South West Chamber Choir, based in Plymouth.

He was Director of Music at Tavistock Parish Church from 2005 until 2017, during which time he recorded two CDs.

During his career he has performed in some of the major concert venues in this country and abroad including the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, the National Theatre, Brecon, Chichester, Hereford, Wells, Portsmouth, Chichester and Exeter Cathedrals, Bath Abbey, the Theatre Royal, Bath, Ferrara and Carrera Cathedrals in Italy and the Deutchland Halle in Berlin.

Since his appointment to the University of Plymouth Choral Society in 2020 he has also been appointed as Organist and Choral Director at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. Sean continues as Chairman of the Tavistock Festival.

The journey through the Covid years with the Choral Society has been challenging but exciting and we have grown from strength to strength.

2022 - 23 Season

We are enjoying this season’s repertoire which will include Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio, Mozart’s Requiem and a summer workshop of opera choruses.

Our concert performances are greatly enhanced by the best local orchestral players and exceptional young soloists, and our accompanist, Mary Mazur-Park, provides outstanding support, week by week.

Anniversary

This is our fortieth year of singing and we look forward to many more years of enjoyable music making.
